The Midwest Music Foundation was formed in 2024 to serve the Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Iowa region. The goal of the foundation is to provide quality access to music education throughout the region; whether that is through scholarships, lessons, instruments, instructional equipment, or through performance opportunities. The Midwest Music Foundation has the specific goal of helping low-income and rural communities where access to quality experiences and instruction is more difficult and costly.

The Midwest Music Foundation is a registered 501c3 non-profit and all donations are tax deductible.

The Midwest Music Foundation is led by Dr. Zachary Ploeger, who has devoted his career to expanding access to quality music education. He holds degrees in music from the University of Minnesota, Arizona State University, and Western Michigan University. His compositions are played all around the United States. He also has three solo trumpet albums that you can listen to on all major streaming platforms. His trumpet method geared toward music sight-reading is used by teachers all around the world.

Apply for a Grant

Grants are processed on a rolling basis depending on funds available and number of requests. If your grant can not be funded immediately, it will be kept on file for one year for future consideration. After that, please re-apply. Grant amounts vary depending on funds available. Smaller monetary amounts are more likely to be funded. We may also offer a partial grant in some circumstances.
